ImagineLaw strengthens capacity for tobacco industry monitoring, research, and accountability

ImagineLaw team members Katrina Gomez-Chua, Miko Balisi, and Rozene Adremesin recently participated in the 2026 intake of the Tobacco Industry Monitoring, Research, and Accountability (TIMRA) training offered by the University of Bath. The training provided participants with opportunities to deepen their understanding of tobacco industry monitoring and strengthen their skills in documenting and analyzing industry activities and tactics.

The participation was part of ImagineLaw’s continuing efforts to strengthen its institutional capacity to gather evidence and data that can support tobacco control advocacy.

Through the knowledge and practical approaches gained from the training, ImagineLaw is better equipped to identify emerging tobacco industry strategies. Aside from this, the knowledge gained from the TIMRA training will be valuable not only in strengthening tobacco industry monitoring and advocacy in the Philippines, but also in supporting ImagineLaw’s work with its sub-grantees in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, and Cambodia.
