ImagineLaw, Taguig City hold policy writeshop to advance alcohol harms prevention ordinance
The City Government of Taguig, in partnership with ImagineLaw, successfully conducted the Policy Writeshop for the Model Ordinance on Alcohol Harms Prevention on June 24, 2026 at the Taguig City Convention Center. The whole day activity brought together representatives from key city government offices to collaboratively develop a localized ordinance aimed at reducing alcohol-related harms in the city.
Throughout the writeshop, participants engaged in a series of policy co-design activities focusing on the different chapters of the proposed ordinance. The participants worked in groups to review each provision, discuss its applicability within the local context, and identified the offices that would play key roles in implementation and enforcement. The discussions were marked by active participation, with representatives providing valuable feedback based on their day-to-day responsibilities and firsthand experiences serving Taguig City residents. The writeshop concluded with a synthesis of the group’s recommendations and a discussion of the next steps toward finalizing the proposed Alcohol Harms Prevention Ordinance.
Through initiatives such as the policy writeshop, the City Government of Taguig and ImagineLaw continue to strengthen their partnership in developing sustainable, evidence-based policies that promote healthier communities and reduce the burden of alcohol-related harm.
