ImagineLaw joins partners in advancing a smoke-free and vape-free future

01 June 2026 - In observance of World No Tobacco Day and National No Smoking Month, ImagineLaw, in solidarity with government agencies, civil society organizations, youth advocates, and other public health stakeholders, participated in advancing tobacco control and promoting healthier, smoke-free and vape-free communities.

ImagineLaw participated in the World No Tobacco Day and National No Smoking Month Celebration led by the Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) and the Department of Health (DOH). The event featured the launch of a tobacco cessation exhibit, highlighting Quitline 1558 and the LCP’s smoking cessation program to promote accessible support for individuals seeking to quit tobacco use. Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa and DOH Health Promotion Bureau Director Maria Kristina Marasigan graced the event with  inspirational messages, reaffirming DOH’s continued commitment to protect the health  of Filipinos. Highlights of this celebration  were performances led by the Labubulok Gang, DOH’s mascots representing tobacco-related diseases; the TobaccOFF Short Film Festival; and a live interview with popular radio disc jockey DJ Jhai Ho, who shared his experience of  being hospitalized due to a severe vaping-related illness.

ImagineLaw also joined the TobaccOFF NOW! Film Showing and Smoke-Free and Vape-Free Environment Solidarity Day in Quezon City. Mayor Joy Belmonte led government officials, youth leaders, and advocates in strengthening their call for stricter policies and more effective programs to achieve smoke-free and vape-free environments. During the event, ImagineLaw screened an episode of its podcast, “Usapang Toxic: Okay Ka, Lungs?!”, which breaks down cigarette components and discusses their corresponding harms. .

These events highlight the strength of multi-sectoral collaboration in advancing tobacco control. ImagineLaw remains committed to working with advocacy partners to help build a healthier, smoke-free, and vape-free future for every Filipino.
